What is the difference between Avalanche, Ethereum, and Arbitrum – which should I use?
Avalanche for everyday transfers — the default blockchain in EXTRA SAFE, providing a "gasless" experience via UGTP (you pay the gas with the token/stablecoin you send, no need to hold AVAX or ETH to pay the fee). Arbitrum is a strong secondary option. Ethereum when compatibility or specific assets require it.
Feature | Avalanche C (default) | Ethereum | Arbitrum |
|---|---|---|---|
Transaction speed | Near-instant (sub-second) | Slower (~12s blocks) | Near-instant finality |
Typical fee | Usually cents | Variable $1–20+ | Usually cents |
Gas token needed | No (covered in token you send, UGTP) | ETH | ETH |
Security | L1 (own consensus) | Base layer (L1) | Inherits Ethereum L1 |
Best for | Daily transfers, in-chat, gifts | DeFi, rare assets | Users with existing ARB balances |
