EXTRA SAFE minimizes metadata exposure by design. Sensitive file metadata is not preserved when sending.
Photos taken on a smartphone carry metadata: GPS location, device model, timestamp, and camera settings. When sharing through EXTRA SAFE, this metadata is not forwarded to the recipient – the focus is on the content, not the context data that came with it.
The chat channel is E2EE, which protects message content. Metadata stripping reduces what can be inferred, even if the file itself were somehow accessed.
