ERC-20 is the technical standard that defines how tokens behave on Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks. USDT, USDC, and DAI are all ERC-20 tokens, which is why they work seamlessly in EXTRA SAFE without any extra configuration.

ERC-20 is essentially a ruleset. Any token built to this standard behaves predictably: it can be sent, received, and held by any compatible wallet, traded on any compatible exchange, and integrated into any app that speaks the same language. The standard defines things like how balances are tracked, how transfers are authorized, and how wallets query token information.

For you as a user, this mostly runs in the background – you don't interact with the standard directly. What it means in practice is that any ERC-20 token works in EXTRA SAFE the moment it's added to the supported asset list, with no additional setup required on your end.

The same standard applies across all EVM-compatible networks. USDT on Ethereum and USDT on Arbitrum are both ERC-20 tokens – the underlying networks differ, but the token behavior is identical. This is why one EXTRA SAFE wallet handles assets across multiple networks without friction.

Currently supported ERC-20 tokens in EXTRA SAFE: USDT. More assets are coming as the platform grows.
