How do I verify the identity of a contact?
Before you send stablecoins or share something sensitive, start a quick video call in the same chat and check the contact's EXTRA SAFE number. It takes a minute, and it's the surest way to know the person on the other end is who you think.
1. Call them in the same chat
Tap the call icon at the top of the chat and start a call. Seeing and hearing the person confirms it's really them. When you're sure, send the stablecoins from the attachment menu in the same chat. The transfer status appears right in the conversation.
2. Check their EXTRA SAFE number
Every person has a unique 9-digit EXTRA SAFE number. You'll see it under the contact's name in your contact list and on their profile. Ask your contact to read their number to you on the call, or confirm it through a channel you already trust — in person, or by a phone call. If the numbers match, it's them.
If the numbers don't match, don't send anything. Ask your contact to share their number or QR code again, and add them from that.
3. Check the details before you confirm
The review screen shows who you're sending to, the network, the amount, and the full fee breakdown. Check the name and number, then confirm.
Signs of a scam
Take a step back if someone:

rushes you or says it's urgent;
- •
avoids a video call, or the call doesn't match who they claim to be;
- •
asks you to send to a wallet address outside the chat instead;
- •
writes from a new number, saying their old account is "blocked" or "lost";
- •
asks for your recovery phrase, PIN or backup password — EXTRA SAFE and real contacts never will;
- •
asks you to pay to receive a gift or a prize.
Why it matters
Transfers on the blockchain are final: once sent, they can't be reversed. The one exception is a Gift Link, which you can take back until it's claimed.
