Same on-chain transaction, completely different experience. In-chat transfers remove address entry, network selection guesswork, and the clipboard entirely.
Under the hood, an in-chat transfer is a real blockchain transaction – signed on your device, broadcast to the network, recorded permanently on-chain. The security model is identical to any self-custody transfer.
The difference is everything around it:
Criteria | In-chat transfer | Standard wallet transfer |
|---|---|---|
Recipient | EXTRA SAFE number (contact) | Wallet address (manual entry) |
Error risk | Minimal – contact-based routing | High – one wrong character = lost funds |
Context | Lives in the conversation | Separate app or interface |
Speed | Same as network | Same as network |
On-chain | Yes | Yes |
The transaction is the same. The experience is not.
