Yes. Group calls work in both the mobile app and the browser – participants can join from either, and it all connects to the same room.
If you're hosting a call from the app, anyone you invite can join from their phone or directly from a browser via a shared link – no installation needed on their end. The room handles mixed participants without any extra configuration.
A few things worth knowing about the experience:
Performance varies by device. Video calls are more demanding than voice calls – older phones or low-powered devices may drop to lower quality automatically to keep the connection stable. On desktop browsers, performance is generally more consistent.
Network quality matters more than speed. A stable connection – even a decent 4G signal – handles group calls well. An unstable one will show up as choppy audio or dropped frames, regardless of how fast it is on paper.
Up to 5 participants, including the host, can join a single call, whether they're on mobile or browser. The limit applies to the room, not the device type.
