What is the EXTRA SAFE wallet, and how does it work?
EXTRA SAFE wallet is a non-custodial crypto wallet built into the app – set up in seconds, secured by the same backup phrase as your messenger account.
The wallet is created on your device when you activate it for the first time. Your cryptographic keys are generated locally, and the private key always stays there. EXTRA SAFE has no access to them, as well as the ability to freeze your funds or to move your assets. That's what non-custodial means.
You can use the wallet to send and receive crypto from the Wallet tab, or send directly inside a chat conversation. Your contact's EXTRA SAFE number is the only identifier you need – no wallet addresses to copy.
You can also send a crypto gift – a set amount of crypto – as a gift and invitation for someone to join EXTRA SAFE.
