How do I switch to a new device and keep my contacts?
Restore your account on the new device with your recovery phrase or encrypted backup. Your EXTRA SAFE number, contacts, and wallet come with it. Before you switch, run through this checklist.
Before you switch
1.
You can restore your account. You have your 12-word recovery phrase, or an encrypted backup in Google Drive or iCloud and its password. Not sure? Open Settings → Account → Recovery phrase on your current phone and check.
2.
You've saved what matters from your chats. Messages that clear on a timer don't come back.
3.
Your computer is signed in, if you use EXTRA SAFE Desktop. It stays in sync, so you can keep chatting while you set up the new phone.
Switch
1.
Install EXTRA SAFE on your new phone.
2.
Tap Restore Account.
3.
Enter your recovery phrase, or restore from your encrypted backup.
