Do I need to know the recipient's wallet address to send funds?
Your contact's EXTRA SAFE number is the only thing you need – you don't need to copy the wallet address, so there's no risk of a typo.
Each EXTRA SAFE number is linked to a wallet on the backend. When you send tokens in a chat, routing happens automatically, and the app resolves the address so you don't have to.
This eliminates one of the most friction-heavy parts of on-chain activity: the copy-paste workflow, where a single wrong character can mean permanent loss. In EXTRA SAFE, you send to a person, not a string of characters.
Sending to an external wallet address for contacts outside EXTRA SAFE is also possible from the Wallet tab. But inside the app, you never need to touch an address directly.
